God's Presence Dispels Darkness

Greetings Life House Family,

This summer is moving quickly. Only a few weeks and we will back at bible study. This has been a summer of extreme weather patterns. Many of us have been battling health issues to add to the mix. We are looking forward to gathering together again. There is such encouragement when we connect. In all our ups and downs one thing is constant; our God is a Good God . He remains faithful in a world of unfaithfulness.

I find myself not being able to watch many news programs as the world is in so much turmoil. The Lord has been left out of every arena to our detriment. Praise God for dual citizenship. We need the constant reminder to realize we are in this world but not of it. We have our citizenship in heaven where nothing can take away from our inheritance that flows from Kingdom. Righteousness, Peace and Joy are ours, bought and paid for by Jesus. We draw our strength from our relationship with Him. We can affect our sphere of influence by the power of His Spirit resident within us. We are the “thermostat”  effecting the ‘temperature” of our surroundings. I don’t know about you, but I need that reminder form time to time.

I hope the summer teachings on wisdom have blessed you. It was our pleasure to put them together for you. It is my prayer that our word at our May study on meditation brought you encouragement to spend time in the Word and in prayer. What a privilege we have to be able to come boldly to His throne of grace in time of need.

I want to bring you this portion of scripture that is on my heart.  It is Psalm 27. The beginning of it is a wonderful declaration. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid.” The Amplified version says “whom shall I dread.” It also says” The Lord is my refuge and stronghold of my life.”

Light reveals the darkness. His Presence dispels darkness in all its forms. In His Presence, my thoughts are aligned to the light of His Word .Our natural way of thinking exchanged  for His thoughts. We declare His salvation and all He saved us from; from destruction to preservation; from death to Life eternal. Strong’s concordance states that salvation means: saved, delivered, victory, welfare, health, prosperity, help. Amazing what is ours in Christ Jesus. We do not have to give in to fear. The enemy is always offering opportunities to fear. It is who he is. This declaration is our answer when fear comes knocking at our door. We can declare who our God is and dispel the darkness. This psalm states that the enemy will stumble and fall as we take our stand. We take refuge in Him, our stronghold. We don’t receive dread. Praise God He is our Victory. We won’t let our emotions rule but yield them to the Lord. This can be a challenge when circumstances press on our lives. The Lord empowers us with multiplied grace when we ask. Verse 4 says “one thing I ask of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple, for in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion, in the secret place of His tabernacle, He shall hide me, He shall set me high upon a rock”

There is so much in this Psalm. I suggest you meditate on all of it. I love the emphasis of being hidden in Him. That is such a place of safety.  Another of the requests in this psalm is for The Lord to teach us His ways. I am sure we can agree that we all want to know Him more. His ways are so much higher than this natural realm we live in. The Word given by Holy Spirit gives us clarity on where our help come from. I pray this portion of scripture will bring you encouragement.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father we come before You with hearts of gratitude for all You are to us. Thank you for Your guidance and protection. It is hard to put into words, when we consider Your greatness.
